This time around, Sling Media is telling us that the release will happen at MacWorld, but they mention that Apple needs to approve the software " in Q1". The second part of this news is Sling Player HD for Mac: those who own a a href="http://www.slingmedia.com/go/slingbox-prohd"Slingbox Pro HD/a will be able to stream HD content to their Mac at no additional cost. Yes, SlingPlayer HD for Mac is free. MindFlex Game by Mattel

Using mental concentration, the gamer guide a small foam ball through a customizable obstacle course. We already publish about a href="http://www.ubergizmo.com/15/archives/2008/10/neurrosky_and_square_enix_to_release_brainwavecontrolled_game.html"Neurosky/a and the a href="http://www.ubergizmo.com/15/archives/2008/02/emotiv_epoc_neuroheadset_mindcontrolled_video_games.html"Emotiv Epoc neuroheadset/a, two super innovative products that are experimenting with the brain activity to control games interfaces. HP Firebird With Voodoo DNA, Hands-On

centera href="http://www.ubergizmo.com/zoom.php?dir=2009/1/hp-firebird-with-voodoo-dna/" target="_blank"img border=0 title="HP Firebird With Voodoo DNA, Hands-On" alt="HP Firebird With Voodoo DNA, Hands-On" src="http://www.ubergizmo.com/photos/2009/1/hp-firebird-with-voodoo-468.jpg" style="margin: 0 0 0 0;" /brimg border=0 src="http://www.ubergizmo.com/15/img/photo-gallery.gif" //a/center br/pWe got to spend some time with the HP Firebird with Voodoo DNA and while some describe it as a gaming machine, I don't think that I would agree. A large chunk of the resources (your money) spent on this computer is geared towards making it silent and nice to use. Making a powerful gaming machine that does not have any consideration for the power or noise that it generates is quite easy. Having a fast PC that can sit next to you without buzzing annoyingly is much harder - or expensive./p pI found the use of two MXM GPU modules to be an interesting idea. MXM was originally designed by NVIDIA to make laptop motherboard GPU design to be more GPU neutral (to gain market share), but Voodoo convinced NVIDIA to help it design a desktop machine using this format. Now, the dual GeForce 9800S GPUs take only a fraction of a single card. /p pThe liquid cooling and the external power supply help decrease the number of fans to nothing and finally, the dual 2.5" disks won't be heard while they seek for data. It's not really a desktop that uses laptop parts, it's not a laptop in a big case. It's a PC for those who want high-performance, but not at the cost of having a Harley Davidson in the PC case. We wonder if more PC Makers will follow and if consumers will bite. Would you? HP Mini 2140 Netbook Gets a Larger Display

HP has been listening to their customers and have improved a few things that were high on the users wish list. First, the display size: 10.1" is a bit more comfortable than the previous 8.9" display, although you should know that the resolution has increased to 1366x768, which is great from a technical standpoint, but that means "very small pixels", so take a good look before getting one. Secondly, the CPU is now an Intel Atom paired with a GMA950 integrated graphic. The pair should play fullscreen YouTube movies without any problems - that's an issue with the 2133. I'm not sure how battery life is affected by all that, but I think that it should mostly be the same. Finally, the construction quality is still very good. /p pPermalink: a href="http://www.ubergizmo.com/15/archives/2009/01/hp-2140.html"HP Mini 2140 Netbook Gets a Larger Display/a from Ubergizmo (a href="http://www.ubergizmo.com"US/a, a href="http://www.ubergizmo.com/fr"FR/a) | a href="http://www.uberbargain.com/"Good deals/a | Hot: a href="http://www.ubergizmo.com/15/archives/events/ces/"CES/a 2009, Jan 6-11/p pmap name="google_ad_map_090105210002" area shape="rect" href="http://imageads.googleadservices.com/pagead/imgclick/090105210002?pos=0" coords="1,2,367,28"/ area shape="rect" href="http://services.google.com/feedback/abg" coords="384,10,453,23"//map img usemap="#google_ad_map_090105210002" border="0" src="http://imageads.googleadservices.com/pagead/ads?format=468x30_aff_imgamp;client=ca-pub-7335032025195922amp;channel=9684588219amp;output=pngamp;cuid=090105210002amp;url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ubergizmo.com%2F15%2Farchives%2F2009%2F01%2Fhp-2140.html"//p pa href="http://feedads.googleadservices.com/~a/0tNXG5pZxFkTy3ttUqvncJ2MhF0/a"img src="http://feedads.googleadservices.com/~a/0tNXG5pZxFkTy3ttUqvncJ2MhF0/i" border="0" ismap="true"/img/a/pdiv class="feedflare" a href="http://feedproxy.google.com/~f/ubergizmo?a=AvgUNDHo"img src="http://feedproxy.google.com/~f/ubergizmo?d=41" border="0"/img/a a href="http://feedproxy.google.com/~f/ubergizmo?a=b6azodko"img src="http://feedproxy.google.com/~f/ubergizmo?i=b6azodko" border="0"/img/a a href="http://feedproxy.google.com/~f/ubergizmo?a=VEG1otEs"img src="http://feedproxy.google.com/~f/ubergizmo?d=52" border="0"/img/a a href="http://feedproxy.google.com/~f/ubergizmo?a=VJzdZYEE"img src="http://feedproxy.google.com/~f/ubergizmo?i=VJzdZYEE" border="0"/img/a a href="http://feedproxy.google.com/~f/ubergizmo?a=8fF8SKGD"img src="http://feedproxy.google.com/~f/ubergizmo?i=8fF8SKGD" border="0"/img/a /divimg src="http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/ubergizmo/~4/4FFofJfvnxs" height="1" width="1"/

However, we like the fact that the motherboard can support 8GB of RAM (with a 64-bit OS). It's about time for laptops to go to the next level, even if right now, two 4GB modules of DDR2 800Mhz can cost as much as $725 - ouch. Assuming that the price of this laptop is reasonable , this is an interesting system that has a good balance in terms of power, weight and value. When it comes to style, everyone is entitled to an opinion, so what's yours? Check out the photo gallery and tell us if you like it or not./p pPermalink: a href="http://www.ubergizmo.com/15/archives/2009/01/pavilion-dv3.html"HP Pavilion dv3 laptop: 3.8lbs and 8GB of RAM/a from Ubergizmo (a href="http://www.ubergizmo.com"US/a, a href="http://www.ubergizmo.com/fr"FR/a) | a href="http://www.uberbargain.com/"Good deals/a | Hot: a href="http://www.ubergizmo.com/15/archives/events/ces/"CES/a 2009, Jan 6-11/p pmap name="google_ad_map_090105210001" area shape="rect" href="http://imageads.googleadservices.com/pagead/imgclick/090105210001?pos=0" coords="1,2,367,28"/ area shape="rect" href="http://services.google.com/feedback/abg" coords="384,10,453,23"//map img usemap="#google_ad_map_090105210001" border="0" src="http://imageads.googleadservices.com/pagead/ads?format=468x30_aff_imgamp;client=ca-pub-7335032025195922amp;channel=9684588219amp;output=pngamp;cuid=090105210001amp;url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ubergizmo.com%2F15%2Farchives%2F2009%2F01%2Fpavilion-dv3.html"//p pa href="http://feedads.googleadservices.com/~a/Idm4-NQACRBEzzvCbdkqmeYr6cY/a"img src="http://feedads.googleadservices.com/~a/Idm4-NQACRBEzzvCbdkqmeYr6cY/i" border="0" ismap="true"/img/a/pdiv class="feedflare" a href="http://feedproxy.google.com/~f/ubergizmo?a=NhI8KFRt"img src="http://feedproxy.google.com/~f/ubergizmo?d=41" border="0"/img/a a href="http://feedproxy.google.com/~f/ubergizmo?a=X3lxT8jO"img src="http://feedproxy.google.com/~f/ubergizmo?i=X3lxT8jO" border="0"/img/a a href="http://feedproxy.google.com/~f/ubergizmo?a=VVbthjsp"img src="http://feedproxy.google.com/~f/ubergizmo?d=52" border="0"/img/a a href="http://feedproxy.google.com/~f/ubergizmo?a=PrlvGJEg"img src="http://feedproxy.google.com/~f/ubergizmo?i=PrlvGJEg" border="0"/img/a a href="http://feedproxy.google.com/~f/ubergizmo?a=kDfzF9KW"img src="http://feedproxy.google.com/~f/ubergizmo?i=kDfzF9KW" border="0"/img/a /divimg src="http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/ubergizmo/~4/o61M-RRJymI" height="1" width="1"/

Thanks to the H.264 compression, users can record up to six hours of full HD video on a 32 GB SDHC card, since on average people record only 30 min of video each time, this less expensive model is a good choice for the regular users./p pThe Schneider Kreuznach lens features a 10x optical zoom with the new Samsung Optical Image Stabilizer and offers a 37 mm wide-angle focal unlike most of the camcorders available on the market (typically 40-50 mm). Other features include HDMI connections to watch full HD video on a HDTV, a 2.7" swiveling TFT LCD screen and a HD time lapse recording mode, that allows to record each image with a pre-selected time interval./p pPermalink: a href="http://www.ubergizmo.com/15/archives/2009/01/samsung_hmxh100_fullhd_camcorder.html"Samsung HMX-H100 full-HD camcorder/a from Ubergizmo (a href="http://www.ubergizmo.com"US/a, a href="http://www.ubergizmo.com/fr"FR/a) | a href="http://www.uberbargain.com/"Good deals/a | Hot: a href="http://www.ubergizmo.com/15/archives/events/ces/"CES/a 2009, Jan 6-11/p pmap name="google_ad_map_090105192522" area shape="rect" href="http://imageads.googleadservices.com/pagead/imgclick/090105192522?pos=0" coords="1,2,367,28"/ area shape="rect" href="http://services.google.com/feedback/abg" coords="384,10,453,23"//map img usemap="#google_ad_map_090105192522" border="0" src="http://imageads.googleadservices.com/pagead/ads?format=468x30_aff_imgamp;client=ca-pub-7335032025195922amp;channel=9684588219amp;output=pngamp;cuid=090105192522amp;url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ubergizmo.com%2F15%2Farchives%2F2009%2F01%2Fsamsung_hmxh100_fullhd_camcorder.html"//p pa href="http://feedads.googleadservices.com/~a/Sn_01-SZWhMC35bwfUA6dOHDJw0/a"img src="http://feedads.googleadservices.com/~a/Sn_01-SZWhMC35bwfUA6dOHDJw0/i" border="0" ismap="true"/img/a/pdiv class="feedflare" a href="http://feedproxy.google.com/~f/ubergizmo?a=o4GEfHhe"img src="http://feedproxy.google.com/~f/ubergizmo?d=41" border="0"/img/a a href="http://feedproxy.google.com/~f/ubergizmo?a=F1hhu6r8"img src="http://feedproxy.google.com/~f/ubergizmo?i=F1hhu6r8" border="0"/img/a a href="http://feedproxy.google.com/~f/ubergizmo?a=w67Mwp6c"img src="http://feedproxy.google.com/~f/ubergizmo?d=52" border="0"/img/a a href="http://feedproxy.google.com/~f/ubergizmo?a=V9CDK2Av"img src="http://feedproxy.google.com/~f/ubergizmo?i=V9CDK2Av" border="0"/img/a a href="http://feedproxy.google.com/~f/ubergizmo?a=PPTmnWlw"img src="http://feedproxy.google.com/~f/ubergizmo?i=PPTmnWlw" border="0"/img/a /divimg src="http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/ubergizmo/~4/NbGppqpvf4o" height="1" width="1"/

Solar Monkey Goes Green

centerimg title="Solar Monkey Goes Green" style="MARGIN: 0px" alt="Solar Monkey Goes Green" src="http://www.ubergizmo.com/photos/2009/1/solar-monkey.jpg" border="0" //centerbr / pNow this is one mindless solar-powered toy that we would love to have at the office - the Solar Monkey. Equipped with a small solar panel no bigger than its back that pops up whenever you want to juice up this primate, it will start to climb up a string, hand over hand to keep children (and bored adults at the office) entertained to no end. The a href="http://www.selectsolar.co.uk/pics/Solar%20Monkey.php"Solar Monkey/a will retail for a href="http://www.selectsolar.co.uk/pics/Solar%20Monkey.php"$20/a a pop and requires some bit of assembly, but the fact that you don't need batteries to power this mindless gizmo is refreshing. At least you don't have to feed it bananas or clean up after this origami-looking monkey./p pPermalink: a href="http://www.ubergizmo.com/15/archives/2009/01/solar_monkey_goes_green.html"Solar Monkey Goes Green/a from Ubergizmo (a href="http://www.ubergizmo.com"US/a, a href="http://www.ubergizmo.com/fr"FR/a) | a href="http://www.uberbargain.com/"Good deals/a | Hot: a href="http://www.ubergizmo.com/15/archives/events/ces/"CES/a 2009, Jan 6-11/p pmap name="google_ad_map_090105192301" area shape="rect" href="http://imageads.googleadservices.com/pagead/imgclick/090105192301?pos=0" coords="1,2,367,28"/ area shape="rect" href="http://services.google.com/feedback/abg" coords="384,10,453,23"//map img usemap="#google_ad_map_090105192301" border="0" src="http://imageads.googleadservices.com/pagead/ads?format=468x30_aff_imgamp;client=ca-pub-7335032025195922amp;channel=9684588219amp;output=pngamp;cuid=090105192301amp;url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ubergizmo.com%2F15%2Farchives%2F2009%2F01%2Fsolar_monkey_goes_green.html"//p pa href="http://feedads.googleadservices.com/~a/T5LntfXqtAXeI8pfO7GrEgV8tuk/a"img src="http://feedads.googleadservices.com/~a/T5LntfXqtAXeI8pfO7GrEgV8tuk/i" border="0" ismap="true"/img/a/pdiv class="feedflare" a href="http://feedproxy.google.com/~f/ubergizmo?a=8PDyf6Pm"img src="http://feedproxy.google.com/~f/ubergizmo?d=41" border="0"/img/a a href="http://feedproxy.google.com/~f/ubergizmo?a=jn4gUPkV"img src="http://feedproxy.google.com/~f/ubergizmo?i=jn4gUPkV" border="0"/img/a a href="http://feedproxy.google.com/~f/ubergizmo?a=8xfEGCPF"img src="http://feedproxy.google.com/~f/ubergizmo?d=52" border="0"/img/a a href="http://feedproxy.google.com/~f/ubergizmo?a=8rg1pUtS"img src="http://feedproxy.google.com/~f/ubergizmo?i=8rg1pUtS" border="0"/img/a a href="http://feedproxy.google.com/~f/ubergizmo?a=09IzBagO"img src="http://feedproxy.google.com/~f/ubergizmo?i=09IzBagO" border="0"/img/a /divimg src="http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/ubergizmo/~4/dm3VQBXxfRU" height="1" width="1"/

Samsung HMX-H106 and H-Series 1080p Camcorders

centera href="http://www.ubergizmo.com/zoom.php?dir=2009/1/HMX-H106/" target="_blank"img title="Samsung HMX-H106 1080p Camcorder" style="MARGIN: 0px" alt="Samsung HMX-H106 1080p Camcorder" src="http://www.ubergizmo.com/photos/2009/1/samsung-HMX-H106-468.jpg" border="0" /br /img src="http://www.ubergizmo.com/15/img/photo-gallery.gif" border="0" //a/centerbr / p[CES 2009] Samsung has just launched its H-Series of digital, full HD camcorders. It features a Schneider Kreuznach Varioplan lens with an optical stabilizer, a 10X optical zoom, and use flash memory (solid state drive) as the recording medium. The H106 top of the line model features 64GB of storage. SSD is a key asset when it comes to size reduction. Gaining more volume can ultimately lead to using a larger lens, which directly affects the image quality. In a camcorder, SSDs can also affect battery life dramatically. unlike laptops which have power-hungry components such as a CPU and a GPU, a hard drive can likely represent an important percentage of the power utilization. /p pWith these camcorders, Samsung has the ability to leverage its semi-conductor strengths: flash memory, optical sensors, LCD display. the lens is the last component that's not from Samsung.
